Pit And Paddock Cars & Coffee

Well 2023 is upon us and after some recovery from the hectic holiday season I was feeling a bit of withdrawal from anything car related. Luckily the crew over at Pit & Paddock were throwing a Cars and Coffee meet to show off Cameron Cocalis’ wild LS3 powered, tube chassis GT86. In true Pit & Paddock fashion they brought out a slew of high end cars to fill out the space.

The car I was most excited to see was Dai’s new Greddy built R33. I love the underdog and I don’t think R33s get enough love. It’s clear that Dai’s 33 was built with a lot of love and attention to detail. It’s absolutely beautiful.

The meet was hosted at Ancillary Studios and the guest of honor GT86 was front and center under their massive Chimera softbox. I’ve been working as a photographer for over a decade and have shot in a lot of studios, but I still always find those massive boxes to be a wonder. I actually dislike shooting cars in studio but to use it as practical lighting to show off a car in the context of a meet is brilliant.

Speaking of underrated cars, I love Levins. Definitely my preferred hachi configuration.

I’ve probably mentioned it before but I had a hawkeye in 06 and the plan was always a Voltex kit. I never got around to it and I still regret selling the car.

Being that it’s now 2023 things will get a little busy around here. We’re heading into the time of year where spring campaigns are shot so I’ll be pretty busy with the DAY JOB but I hope to attend as many track events and meets as possible this year. I plan to put some serious focus(bad pun not intended) and effort into this blog as well as some other things that I’ll tease later on. Until then, enjoy the rest of the images and take care.
