7s Saturday + Jada Toys
Saturday 7/8 was the first day I’ve had free to dedicate to going for a drive(2 actually) and checking out some cool cars. I’ve had a busy season of shooting campaigns for WORK and have been chasing a stupid handful of EVAP codes on my IS300 had kind of killed the vibe for a little while. But there’s light at the end of the tunnel and I decided to check out a few gatherings near home.
First up was a belated 7s day meet at AT230 in La Habra. While there was only a handful of 7s in attendance, any excuse to see even a couple of doritos is enough to get me out of the house. It was also the first time I’ve been at AT230 which is a really cool concept fusing an automotive shop and cafe. Props to them for executing that idea VERY well. Ilia’s FD was front and center out front.
Always a sucker for an FC and I have to admit, RX8s have been growing on me lately. I’d be lying if I said I hadn’t scoped a few out on the marketplace as an idea for a grip car.
There were a few other cars in the lot that caught my eye. Obviously with the IS300 bias I can’t not take a photo of Joey's Sportcross.
Later in the afternoon was the Homecoming meet hosted by Jada Toys at Ancillary Studios in Costa Mesa. Being that it was so close to my home and any meet I’ve been to there has been excellent, I wasn’t about to miss it. Especially because I had heard that the Hoonipigasus would be on display.
The real highlight for me was seeing Marc’s Millennium Jade R34 M Spec Nur. For me that is probably the white whale of all white whales.
My girlfriend Natalie is an NSX fiend and she’d probably bust my chops for not posting this one because it was definitely one of the nicest cars on display.
A90 + Varis + Rays is a winning combination but holy shit that yellow is hard to do justice to on camera.
I don’t think I’ve seen so many RWBs in one place and it made me feel all of the feels.
I’ll close it out with one last bit of 7s day goodness. One of my all time favorite cars was the RE Amemiya Super G and this one pays a nice homage.
Until next time. Check out the rest of the gallery below.
