Brekkie At The Berrics

On the evening of June 3 Brekkie Car Club hosted their Brekkie At The Berrics meet at Berrics HQ in downtown LA. Having grown up in the BMX world I see a lot of parallels between extreme sports culture and car culture and it was a cool spot to host a meet. Featuring a nice collection of European and Japanese cars and as well as a skate demo, a few vendors and food trucks made for a nice evening. Paired with some nice California weather(finally), it was very enjoyable.

This 2J powered E30 was one of my favorite cars in attendance. I’ve seen it once or twice before but never really had a chance to look closely at it. There are a ton of nice little touches to this car. Details really make or break a build.

For those that don’t know, I run the photo studio at a large clothing company based in California and we recently switched from Sony A7RIII’s to Canon R5’s for our location cameras. In the next few weeks I’ll begin shooting our fall campaigns so I’ve been trying to get acquainted with the R5 and the skate demo was a good scenario to get some reps shooting action with the new camera. Also- the new AI Denoise feature in Lightroom is pretty absurd.

I have to admit, I’m not a huge Porsche guy but I can certainly appreciate them. They’re beautiful cars and Brekkie brought out several really nice examples.

I had a red EK about 12 years ago and I will never not regret seeing that project through to completion. This Spoon equipped version is just about as complete as I think you can get.

I will never not take a photo of any RWB I encounter.

I was fairly zoned out during the ride to OC when my girlfriend shouted “what the hell is that?!” I don’t think I’ve ever seen a Pagani in person, but damn. Big money right there.

Brekkie At The Berrics was a nice evening meet and I’m glad we went. Plus it was an excuse to swing by my favorite DTLA ramen spot(shout of Hana Ichimonme) and futz around with the R5. Few more snaps in the gallery below. Until next time!
