Global Time Attack Finals 2024

Global Time Attack finals at Buttonwillow Raceway Park was (I think) the last big event of 2024 for me. I’ve been on the road nonstop for what feels like an eternity and was feeling super under the weather so I was only able to shoot Day 1 on Saturday but it absolutely did not disappoint.

This event brought out a new look for Mr. Boss Boss Racing himself, Mike Reyes and I have to say, I’m a big fan. When I originally saw photos on his story showing his new Ings+1 aero I was on the fence about its aesthetics. Seeing it on the car I am happy to admit how wrong I was. The car looks great. One of the few cars on grid that I feel like really captures the marriage of form and function that I love about Japanese time attack. It doesn’t hurt that he was ripping and consistently in the 1:48.XXX range, the fastest of his run group.

Hana Burton piloted the Eneos/Evasive Tesla Model 3. That late afternoon BRP light was pretty magical.

Back in the old Street Concepts days(only Colorado OG’s will remember that), our biggest inspiration, and one of my favorite cars of all time was the Cyber Evo. The True Form Racing Evo sporting that classic aggressive Voltex kit makes me feel some kind of way.

Mike Soto had a little Phil Hill course off.

Maya Orido piloting the A’PEXi / Tom’s GR86. It’s cool to see her competing stateside.

Throughout Saturday Feras Quartomy was chasing some issues and was only able to make three solid laps. Despite that he would end Saturday within 1 second of the Unlimited class RWD record, and then go on to break that record with a 1:37.871. The car is mind-numbingly fast. I do miss the carbon kevlar look though. Such a cool thing to see in person and he’s doing some truly amazing things in the world of time attack. Hopefully I’ll be able to make it to some other rounds of GTA next season.

As usual, rest of the gallery is below.
