Crashstyle Tandemonium
I had the opportunity to head out to Willow Springs for Crashstyle’s Tandemonium 2 this weekend to shoot some photos and video. The event was a super chill, good vibes, fun day of drifting featuring a range of cars from BMWs, S chassis, Corvettes, and even a 90s Camaro and a couple of GTOs.
Big dogs Matt Field and Micah Diaz came out and were putting down some heater laps and some of the closest tandems of the day.
The young BMX kid and the IS300 owner in me felt much joy seeing this.
I’m not a big Sil-eighty guy but this was an extremely well executed version of one.
On the opposite end of the spectrum, I am a big fan of an S13.4. There’s just something about the Kouki S14 headlights that works so well on the S13 coupe.
Definitely the first drift F-body Camaro I’ve seen in a very long time.
On the camera side of thing, I spent a lot of this day really working on trying to get better at panning. I don’t have the steadiest hands in the west so it was good practice and I felt I made some improvements in my pan game. Horse Thief Mile is extremely overgrown with weeds and shrubs which made shooting extremely challenging. I wish Willow would come and clear cut at least the 5-10 feet on either side of the track surface.
I also spent a significant portion of the day shooting video. Motion is something I’ve been feeling particularly motivated with learning as of late. Unfortunately my poor Canon R5s both overheated under the Willow Springs sun but hopefully I’ve got enough to put together a little edit. I’ll share it if I do, and if you never see it, you’ll know it sucked.
As usual, rest of the images in the gallery below!
